C5I Participate in “Thunder Drone” Technology Exhibition

May 21-22 2024: Faculty and students from the George Mason University C5I Center and the AFCENT Battle Lab hosted over 200 individuals from the National Security and Defense communities at the “Thunder Drone” unmanned aircraft system (UAS) event near Leesburg, VA, on May 21-22, 2024. This event, a collaboration between government, academia, and industry, focused on demonstrating, integrating, and transitioning emerging drone and sensor technologies.

Throughout the two-day event, hundreds of drones showcased technologies for UAS and Counter-UAS missions, including drone swarms, drone-on-drone engagements, targeting scenarios, and new AI/ML and sensor technologies.

This event marked a significant milestone in the partnership between George Mason and AFCENT, with more collaboration planned for Fall 2024.
